Server Authority, Inc. created and maintains the Outbound Index, an anti-spam infrastructure open to third-party developers and VARs. The Outbound Index is a membership organization with a shared data repository, web interface Dashboard, and query-based data access for inbound email servers.
ISPs, corporate email administrators, and domain owners can use the Outbound Index to:
- Separate incoming email into categories: rejectable, acceptable, and unknown/suspicious. They can reject a large portion of spam before it reaches their servers. They can then apply their additional anti-spam processing resources only to the "unknown" categoryand start to reclaim their server resources for legitimate, authorized email.
- See when someone is sending unauthorized mail from their own network and catch that person in the act.
- Monitor possible forging activity related to their domain name, as it happens.
For additional information about the Outbound Index, see the Outbound Index site.
